As for the one you posted yer its a good HDD buit I think you`ll only be left with around 260gb once formatted, if thats enough for you go for it It's just an option that i thought..if the HDD is really damaged you can recover or *try* to recover certain sectors connecting the HDD to PC. Here is a snippet of my internal ps3 settings As you can see the ps3 has my hdd serial stored. Ps3 Hard Drive I have the CECH-L01 80g PS3; I took out the hard drive (don't ask me why), and formatted it to FAT32 with the PC; I replaced it in the PS3, and Restore File System: Checks for corrupt/missing system files.
