I cleaned my project, tried restarting eclipse, re installed SDK. Do I need to manually reference every single object I make in the layout xml file? The menu one (R.menu) corresponds to the folder res/menu. this is also one reason. Your XML file doesn't have a TextView with an ID of text1. Android.1eclipse cannot resolve R.id/layout1R.Id.
