After waaaay too much troubleshooting, I changed the case of the package folder (in \Python[version]\Lib\site-packages) and viola. It seems to be easy to end up with a broken egg or build that is linked against the wrong OpenSSL lib, but I don't know what I did differently to have a peek at these guys So this seems fine.

My app is currently using: Python 2.7.1 zope.interface-3.6.1 Twisted 11.0.0 pyOpenSSL-0.12 pyasn1-0.0.11a pycrypto-2.3 (I'm about to try it with Twisted 12.0.0, and check for any updates of the other packages, but Browse other questions tagged python pycrypto or ask your own question. Maybe you can contact its author to ask for a fix?
