OWA is now working internally - if I go to IIS Admin I can browse to the site and login. THANK YOU! Right click on HTTP virtual server and go to it's properties, check the box for "Enable FBA" and restart your IIS. And if I set the to tab to "Request appear to come from the original client" I have the same problem.
I googled for hours and hours and could not find the solution to why OWA stopped working externally. If the certificate does not say it is associated with a private key then this is most likely your issue. Not sure Everything work fine for about over a year and then I got a call from help desk saying that 3 stores were experiencing the same problem.
