It looks for a special signature in the BIOS setup program instead. I repeatedly had the same problem till I backed up the good partition then dissassembled and reassembled the array and repartitioned. I may just have to borrow one and burn myself a new copy...What would MS need to exchange it for me? No, create an account now.

I made a new CD with the SATA drivers integrated. I also removed one of the RAM sticks. Looking at the CD there is a small, almost microscopic scratch on it.

I know windows is installed but it freezes before going there, I took oembios.bin from another computer (I don't know if it will work since it has the registration info) but If the computer's installation Windows XP has a file called oembios.bin, then it has SLP-activated OEM copy.If a BIOS-locked copy of Windows XP is installed on a motherboard and the BIOS And it worked! in the initial step of the installation when it copies all the files from the cd it warns that amdk6.sys can't be copy.
