This was a HUGE timesaver and I really appreciate it!No more burning CDs/DVDs ever again!This was done right... But after HOURS of frustration, a simple reconnect inside and XP installed easily. I realize this fix also doesn't help anyone who doesn't have a system backup to put back on their PCs if they are having this ASMS issue. useful reference I'm sure that the boot order has everything to do to this, but I didn't have to change anything there.

Then file 'asms' on Windows xp home edition sp3 cd is needed. They were right on, for my particular situation.
Then I looked in device manager and noticed a yellow warning symbol next to it.
